Following his recent trip to the United States, King Charles lll received subsequent praise from his fellow countrymen.
While attending The Kingâs Trustâs 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday (5.11,) the 77-year old monarch was greeted a lineup of celebrity guests including Rita Ora, Anne-Marie and Craig David.
When Charles reached Rod Stewart down the welcoming line, the superstar rocker offered his congratulations on the trip, and added a comment that created an awkward moment.
According to a social media video shared by Englandâs Daily Mail, the 81-year old musician was seen and heard saying âMay I say, well done in the Americas.â âYou were superb. Absolutely superb. You put that little rat bag in his place.â
While observers interpreted Stewartâs comments as a reference to President Donald Trump, those nearby appeared to laugh, though the King did not visibly respond to the remark.
âHowâs that war ever gonna stop?â âHeâs always been a bit of a manâs man. I liked him for that. But he didnât, as far as Iâm concerned, treat women very well. But since he became President, he became another guy. Somebody I didnât know.â
