Music News: KISS Is Back In The Studio
KISS are officially making new music again.
Gene Simmons has confirmed that the band have returned to the studio, revealing that he and Paul Stanley have already recorded a brand-new track.
During an episode of Kiss By Sienna by Sienna Hernandez, who acted as executive producer on 2017âs Gene Simmons Vault box set, Gene teased: âKiss is in the studio now. So we just recorded a new song that Paul wrote. I cannot tell you more about it. And that will be coming out at some point.â
In a recent interview with Pollstar magazine, Gene revealed their eagerly-awaited avatar show will feature new material alongside classics including Love Gun and Deuce.
He told the publication: âYou are going to get all that stuff and also new songs written by us. We have songs done.â
The veteran rockers called it a day after their End Of The Road concert at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 2, 2023, but surprised fans at the end of the gig by debuting digital versions of themselves created by the teams behind the technologically ground-breaking ABBA Voyage show.
Co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Paul, 74, recently teased that the KISS avatars are astounding and will keep the legacy of the rock band alive.
He told Rock Of Nations With Dave Kinchen And Shane McEachern: âWell, the band continues. Without touring, thereâs so much in the pipeline. This avatar show thatâs going to be in Vegas is gonna blow everybodyâs minds. Itâs not like what some people have called holograms and all this kind of experimental and kitschy stuff. This is seeing us. This is as real as I am, and I think itâs gonna just blow people away. And it extends the band that much further.
He went on: âThereâs no reason for us to live within the boundaries of other rock bands.
âThey live within those boundaries because thatâs all they can be. And itâs great, but we are not that â weâre KISS.â
Bassist and co-vocalist Gene Simmons, 76, spoke to Ultimate Classic Rock about the avatar show and spilled that as well as having the band on-stage in their famous face paint, there will also be other technological marvels to experience.
He said: âWeâre gonna blow your socks off in a way multiple times more exciting than the Sphere. People who go to Vegas to see a show in the Sphere are awed by the massive scale of everything. Thereâs nothing wrong with the Sphere, [but] Iâll go out on a limb and make sure people understand this [the KISS avatars] is gonna make that seem like popcorn fart. Itâll be mind-blowing.â
