Music News: Bret Michaels Addresses Poison Reunion
Bret Michaels is hoping to reunite Poison for a tour in 2027 after the bandâs previous plans were scrapped.
The band â which last toured in 2022 with Def Leppard â was planning to make a return this year with a series of big headline gigs but drummer Rikki Rockett recently claimed they gave up on the plan because singer Bret wanted the âlionâs shareâ of the cash.
However, Bret is adamant a reunion is still on the cards and heâs penciled in next year as the time to hit the road. During an appearance on SiriusXMâs Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, he explained: âWeâre hoping for â27, âcause I know itâs a big question. I think â I really strongly think â27, without going into details yet, is going to be a good reunion year for Poison. I think itâs gonna be awesome.â
When asked about Rikkiâs claims the 2026 tour was derailed by a dispute over money, Bret said: âMost people like the drama. Iâm an anti-drama guy. I love the guys. I think â27 is gonna be great.
âRikki is my brother. And youâre allowed to agree and youâre allowed to disagree, but weâre gonna go out there and make it an incredible [tour], honestly.â
Rikki â who has been with the band since they formed in 1983 â previously claimed the band called off the 2026 reunion because of Bretâs demands for extra cash.
He told New York Post column PageSix: âWe had a great offer, I thought. But we left the table. It didnât work. Really what it came to was C.C., [bass player] Bobby [Dall] and I were all in, and I thought Bret was, but he wanted the lionâs share of the money, to the point where it makes it not possible to even do it.â âItâs like $6 to every one of our dollars. You just canât work that way.â âI donât do this just for the money. I do have a love for this, absolutely. But at the same time, you donât want to go out and work really hard just to make somebody else a bunch of money.â
