The White House has issued a statement in response to Sabrina Carpenter's recent actions.
Music News: White House Responds To Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter has received a trolling response from the White House in response to her calling out the use of her music without permission.
Carpenterâs hit song Juno was used in a montage of clips showing raids by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The White House told Entertainment Weekly: âHereâs a Short nâ Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we wonât apologise for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country.âÂ
The representative added, referencing lyrics from Carpenterâs hit song Manchild, âAnyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?â
On Tuesday, the two-time Grammy winner slammed a post from the White Houseâs official X account that took the lyric from Carpenterâs song and layered it over people being handcuffed, tackled, and more by ICE agents.Â
Carpenter responded to the video in a comment: âThis video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.âÂ
This is the latest in a string of occurrences in which President Donald Trumpâs administration has co-opted viral songs to feature in videos on social media.Â
Artists who have spoken out against Trump for using their music include Pharrell, Adele, Guns Nâ Roses, Aerosmith, Neil Young, Rihanna, Ozzy Osbourne, Nickelback, Linkin Park, the Rolling Stones, Village People, Panic! at the Disco, Queen, REM, and the estates and families of Tom Petty, Laura Branigan, Prince and George Harrison.
Most recently, the White House featured the music of Taylor Swift in a patriotic TikTok video celebrating Trump. Swift has yet to comment.
