Music News: Janeâs Addiction Settles Perry Farrell Lawsuit
Janeâs Addiction have settled their lawsuit against Perry Farrell.
Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins had sued their former frontman for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract following an on-stage fight in September 2024 and alleged they had lost over $10 million as a result of the rest of their tour being cancelled and the band coming to an end as a result of the altercation.
But according to People magazine, The Superior Court of California dismissed the lawsuit â" which was filed in July, on 22 December.
The decision came around a week after Perry, 66, apologised for his fight with Dave during the bandâs gig in Boston.
Perry wrote: âTo everyone in Boston, and around the world. Iâd like to address what happened on stage last year.
âJaneâs Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades. The band, the songs, the patrons and the impact that weâve had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down.
âMy aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest and positive. In Boston, we fell short of that, and Iâm truly sorry to everyone who was impacted.
âFrom the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued love and support. Perry Farrell.â
The band shared their own statement âto clarify the events surrounding the cancellation of the tourâ and confirmed they were going their separate ways.
They said: âAfter that show, without notice to Perry, we unilaterally determined it would be best to not continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perryâs mental health which we regret.
âToday we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Janeâs Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together.
âWe now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Janeâs Addiction will forever live in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together.
âYou, the fans, are our lifeblood, and we will always appreciate you.â
