Rob Thomas + Carlos Santana Reunite After 22 Years On 'Move': Listen + Watch

22 years since their three-time Grammy Award-winning mega-hit "Smooth", Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas have reunited on their first track together since 1999.

Taken from Santana's upcoming full length, Blessings And Miracles,, the Matchbox20 lead singer/songwriter re-aligns with the 74-year old Mexican-American guitarist/songwriter who says he knew instantly that the 49-year-old singer was destined to be on the track. Admitting the pair have a "splendiferous sound" he added "'Move' came about was very much like how Smooth happened. It was like divine intelligence behind the scenes. I just knew I had to record it with Rob. The song is about awakening your molecules. Ignite and activate yourself " you know, move. When Rob and I work together, we have a sound thats splendiferous.

The meringue pop-rock track "Move" also features Zac Barnett and American Authors and Santana's star-studded album, scheduled for October 15, has additional guest appearances from the likes of Metallicas Kirk Hammett, country star Chris Stapleton, super-successful songwriter Diane Warren, 'Higher Lover' hitmaker Steve Winwood, former Fifth Harmony star Ally Brooke, and the late jazz legend Chick Corea.

As the LP was made remotely amid the coronavirus pandemic, Carlos - who's yet to meet some of the collaborators - believes the artists he works with are chosen by a higher power, stating: I dont choose people - its like Im chosen. But, of course, Im honored to work with such incredible artists. Im a surfer riding those waves that become songs by different artists, creators and architects. Im very fortunate that I have the opportunity to do that. Its a gift I dont take for granted.
