BTS Perform + Speak At The United Nations: Watch + Listen
In a new performance video for their song âPermission to Dance," South Korean superstars BTS dance through the halls of the United Nations while on hand at the 76th United Nations General Assembly, where the boyband also served as youth ambassadors.
The BTS performance started in the UNâs grand Assembly Hall, with Jung Kook delivering the songâs opening lines from the historic main dais as the rest of the group emerged and the band danced into the lobby before ending the performance with a big dance party on New York City's East River.
According to the The Washington Post, the K-Pop sensations have visited the U.N. twice before, this time arriving as the âspecial presidential envoy for future generations and culture,â as designated by South Korean President Moon Jae-in. During Monday's conference on climate change, poverty, and inequality Monday (9.20) BTS delivered a speech that included remarks and anecdotes from young people around the world who responded to the the Korean act's social media question: âWhat were the past two years like for you, and whatâs your world like today?âÂ
âIâve heard that people in their teens and twenties today are being referred to as Covidâs lost generation,â stated BTSâ RM. âI think itâs a stretch to say theyâre lost, just because the path they tread canât be seen by grown-up eyes.â
